VIS Owns & Tends 6 Parks

For 110 years, the Saranac Lake Village Improvement Society (VIS) has dedicated itself to providing green spaces for community enjoyment.

 

VIS is a not-for-profit organization that relies on volunteers to oversee its parks, to tend gardens and to plant flowers throughout the Village.

Hanging Flower Baskets, Flower Planters & Flower Beds
​

Each year, VIS provides the hanging flower baskets that grace downtown streets during the summer season. In addition, VIS volunteers plant many of the downtown flower planters. VIS also cares for the flower beds in Riverside Park and the flower plantings at the entry signs to the Village.

About VIS

The Village Improvement Society is a not-for-profit volunteer organization that is registered with New York state.

 

Founded in 1910 by a group of 10 intrepid women, VIS relies on volunteers and donors to sustain its good works on behalf of the Village. New volunteers are always welcome. You can support VIS's work on behalf of our community by volunteering your help or making a tax-deductible donation.
